Gail C. Kelly, long time resident of Holmes, NY, entered into eternal rest on March 9, 2012, after a short battle with cancer. She was 71 years old. Born in the Bronx on April 22, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Ferdinand and Henrietta Reiling. On June 6, 1959 she married Vincent Kelly who predeceased her in 1990. While raising her family, Gail was also employed as an LPN at Lovely Hills Nursing Home in Pawling, NY for 17 years. She was an avid bingo player and loved to join bus trips to places such as Atlantic City and Foxwoods. In addition to her husband, Gail was also predeceased by her second son, Michael Peter Kelly, in 1997. She is survived by her oldest son, James Vincent Kelly, and a daughter, Barbara Ann Harrington, both of Poughquag, NY. In addition to her children, she is survived by her grandson, Vincent James Kelly of Preston Hollow, NY and a nephew, Francis Lansing of Dover Plains, NY, whom she raised after the death of her sister Claire Reiling. Gail is also survived by her sisters Patricia and her husband Donald Barberie of Northridge, CA, Diane and her husband Thomas Tomlinson of Hempstead, NC, Donna Reiling Byrum of Corona, CA, a brother Edward and his wife Rebecca Ahne of Las Vegas, NV, her sister in law Eileen Mulhern of Carmel, NY and several other nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Monday March 12, 2012 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Cargain Funeral Home on 10 Fowler Avenue Carmel, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday March 13, 2012 at 10 AM at St James the Apostle church, 14 Gleneida Avenue, Carmel, followed by interment at Raymond Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Gail’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or visit to donate on line.
